Discurso de Albizu Campos sobre el Estado Libre Asociado de Puerto Rico (E.L.A) • Albizu Campos speech about the Free Associated State of Puerto Rico

     Este discurso es de un disco LP de aproximadamente los 1960-1970. Solía ser el disco de discurso de Albizu mas circulado de todos, y eso debió ver sido porque este discurso esta ocurriendo, bajo un ámbito histórico muy contundente para los nacionalistas puertorriqueños. Comenzó en los 1950 en adelante, una idea del congreso de los Estados Unidos, en darle la ciudadanía estadounidense a los puertorriqueños para que se allanaran a sus leyes, remodelar el gobierno insular a parecer mas autónomo, y comenzar  nuevas inscripciones para votar en el sistema democrático impuesto a Puerto Rico por los Estados Unidos. En estos tiempos eso era visto como la mayor amenaza para los nacionalistas puertorriqueños y por ende este discurso llego a ser el mas circulado de todos, ya que era un tema de alerta para todos los nacionalistas puertorriqueños de esa epoca y en adelante.

       El audio es originalmente del disco LP Albizu Habla y fue ecualizado y trabajado un poco en programas de computadora de sonido para mayor fidelidad. El discurso tomo lugar el 23 de septiembre de 1950 en la Junta Municipal de Lares. Es el único discurso de Albizu que hemos podido conseguir completo, un total de 41 minutos de discurso y temas muy importantes. 

       Al principio del video sale un pequeño documental sobre el Estado Libre Asociado muy extraño a ver, especialmente por un puertorriqueño, el cual lo han indoctrinado a creer que el Estado Libre Asociado es algo que le beneficia a Puerto Rico. No sabemos el origen de este documental pero fue encontrado en YouTube en nuestra investigación del Estado Libre Asociado. Al final del tercer video sale una cancion de la Borinqueña, el himno de Puerto Rico y de los nacionalistas puertorriqueños, que estaba incluida al final del disco LP despues del discurso. Son tres videos en total con subtítulos en español y en ingles.

    This speech is from an LP disc of approximately the 1970's. It used to be the most circulated Albizu speech LP disc among all of them, and it must have been so, because this speech was talking place in a very important moment for all puertorican nationalists. It began in the 1950's an idea, of the Congress of the United States in giving the puertoricans the United States citizenship so they had to abide to their rules, to remodel the insular government in order to make it look more autonomous, and new enrollments for voting in the democratic system imposed to Puerto Rico by the United States. In those times that was seen as the biggest threat to puertorican nationalists and that is why this speech ended up being the most circulated speech of all Albizu speeches, it was to alert all puertorican nationalists from there on.

      The audio is originally from the LP disc "Albizu Habla" and it was equalized and worked on in computer sound programs for better fidelity. The speech took place September 23, 1950 in the Municipal Meeting in Lares. It's the only Albizu Campos speech we have found in its entirety, a total of 41 minutes of speech and very important subjects.

      At the beginning of the video there appears a small documentary about the Free Associated State (E.L.A) that is very strange, especially to all puertoricans, who have been indoctrinated to believe that the Free Associated State is beneficial to Puerto Rico. We don't know the origins of this documentary but it was found in YouTube in our investigation about the Free Associated State.  At the end of the third video, a song appears, "la Borinqueña", the national anthem of Puerto Rico and of the puertorican nationalists. They are a total of three videos with subtitles in spanish and english.

Discurso de Albizu Campos en el natalicio de Ramón Emeterio Betances • Albizu Campos Speech in the remembrance of Ramon Emeterio Betances

       Este discurso, encontrado en dos videos de YouTube, estaba originalmente fuera de orden porque el disco LP del cual fue grabado a formato digital, brincaba y parece estaba rayado. Después de edición en programas de computadoras, el sonido fue mejorado considerablemente y como un rompecabezas, se unió lo que se pudo para recrear de nuevo este tan preciado discurso.

      Este discurso fue dado el 8 de abril de 1950 en el natalicio de Ramón Emeterio Betances en Cabo Rojo, ciudad natal de Betances. De lo que se puede oír en el fondo de la grabación, podemos imaginar que era una celebración donde habían muchas familias y niños. Es un discurso ameno y mayormente poético comparado con otros de sus discursos, pero conmovedor igualmente. Acompañado con la grabación están los subtítulos en español y en ingles ya que la disco LP es tan viejo, y se ha degradado de tal manera, que hay veces que no se entiende claramente si atención completa no es dada. Dura un total de 13 minutos de lo que seguramente era un discurso mas largo.

      This speech, found in two YouTube videos, was originally out of order because when the LP disco was recorded to a digital format, it skipped as if it was scratched. After a lot of editing in computer programs, the sound was considerable improved and like a puzzle, it was united in order to recreate again this precious speech.

      This speech was given April 8, 1950 in the remembrance of Ramon Emeterio Betances in Cabo Rojos, birth place of Betances. Of what can be hear in the background of the recording, we can imagine that is took place in a celebration where there were many families and children. It’s a short and mainly poetical speech compared to other of his speeches, but very moving none the less. With the speech recording in the video there are subtitles in spanish and english because the LP disc is so old, and it has degenerated to a degree, that there are some times it can’t be understood clearly unless living full attention. It last a total of 13 minutes from what surely was a longer speech.
